The structure of hydrogen compressors is relatively complex, with important components including cast iron cylinders, cast iron cylinder liners, cast iron cylinder heads, cast iron crankshafts, connecting rods, crossheads (including crosshead slides), packing, pistons (including piston rings), oil scraper rings, stainless steel piston connecting rods, stainless steel gas valves, etc. In addition, there are some auxiliary equipment such as gas filters, buffers, lubricating oil pipelines, etc. Like other reciprocating compressors, hydrogen compressors include three processes: suction, compression, and exhaust. Under the drive of the motor, the crankshaft drives the crosshead, piston connecting rod, and piston to move back and forth in the cylinder. The gas is compressed by the piston and finally discharged through the gas valve.

In the chlor alkali industry, the main function of the hydrogen compressor is to cool and purify the high-temperature and humid hydrogen gas from the electrolysis process, pressurize and transport it, and maintain the stable pressure of the hydrogen system to ensure the safe and stable operation of the electrolysis tank.

Currently, enormous environmental pressure and the gradual depletion of traditional fossil fuels have led countries around the world to actively seek new clean energy sources.
