How to select a vacuum pump?

Generally, the limit vacuum degree of the selected vacuum pump is 0.5 to 1 order of magnitude higher than the operating vacuum degree of the vacuum equipment. Select the operation point of oil-free vacuum pump correctly.

Each type of pump has a fixed operating pressure scale, such as: 2BV series vacuum pump operating pressure scale 760mmHg~25mmHg (absolute pressure), within such a wide pressure scale, the pump’s pumping speed changes with the pressure (refer to the pump’s function curve for detailed changes), and its stable operating pressure scale is so that the pump’s operating point should be selected within this scale, rather than allowing it to operate at 25~30mmHg for a long time.

Compared with the oil pump, the oil-free vacuum pump has low vacuum degree and small pumping capacity, but it is small in size, easy to install, easy to maintain, easy to move, does not pollute the environment, and does not produce oil smoke, especially in laboratories with high requirements. It is also one of the common equipment in the laboratory.

Therefore, when selecting and purchasing oil-free vacuum pump, it is necessary to first determine the vacuum degree required to work. If the vacuum degree of demand is high, the selected vacuum pump should be higher than the vacuum degree of demand, otherwise it will not meet the requirements of vacuum pumping, and it will not meet the working requirements. Thirdly, the pumping rate of oil-free vacuum pump should be slightly higher than the required pumping rate when selecting type, so that it can better meet the needs. Finally, check whether the extracted gas is corrosive. Corrosive gas will corrode the pump. Special materials must be used to meet the requirements.
