Application of vacuum pump in refrigeration industry

The vacuum pump can exhaust and reduce the system pressure to a very low vacuum state is its essential function. The vacuum pumps commonly used in the refrigeration industry are similar to rotary plaiting machines. These deep vacuum pumps are all two-stage rotary vacuum pumps, which can reduce the pressure in the leak-free container to 0.1micron mercury column.

As the refrigerant oil in the system will vaporize slightly and generate pressure, it is not realistic to obtain such high vacuum degree in the field installation system. Although some manufacturers require a vacuum of 250 microns of mercury, most require a conventional vacuum of about 500 microns of mercury.

The two-stage vacuum pump is just a series of two single-stage vacuum pumps. These two-stage vacuum pumps are almost all rotary, because rotary vacuum pumps do not have the same exhaust clearance as piston vacuum pumps, which makes the rotary vacuum pump more volumetric efficiency.

Double-stage vacuum pump can obtain very high vacuum degree because secondary inlet pressure is very low, from the first level of the vacuum pump discharge of low-pressure air to enter the secondary vacuum pump imports, rather than the atmospheric pressure air directly into the secondary vacuum pump, which makes the first level pump has very little back pressure, and therefore has a higher efficiency. The inlet pressure of the second stage vacuum pump is lower, so the vacuum degree of the mercury column, which is only 0.1 micron, can be obtained. Two-stage vacuum pumps have the best record because they also have a high degree of vacuum when used to remove water and are highly efficient.

When there is water in the system, the deep vacuum will cause the water to vaporize into water vapor, which is removed by the vacuum pump and discharged into the atmosphere. But only a small amount of water in this way. With a vacuum pump to exclude a large number of moisture, apparently because water vaporization will produce large amounts of water vapor, if there is one pound of water in the system (about 1 pint), if in temperatures of 70 ° F vaporization can generate 867 cubic feet of water vapor.
