The working range of liquid ring vacuum pump is from atmospheric pressure to about 1 Pa limit vacuum. It has a wide range of pumping speed. Under low vacuum, a single pump can achieve high pumping speed. Its structure is simple and reliable, and its maintenance and operation are convenient. On the other hand, the inherent cleanliness of the liquid ring vacuum pump does not need other media to participate in the extraction process, and does not need to worry about reflux pollution media, and can be combined with Roots and other groups to form a clean, high vacuum, high pumping speed and large dry vacuum unit products. In the fields of food, fine chemical industry, pharmaceutical semiconductor, etc., which have strong demand for clean vacuum and various recycling fields, these characteristics can effectively improve the production efficiency of enterprises, greatly simplify the vacuum system operation process and various supporting links, and improve product quality, so they are favored by enterprises.

Notices for vacuum distillation:

1. When the distillate contains low boiling point substances, atmospheric distillation should be carried out first, and then the low boiling point substances should be removed by vacuum evaporation with rotary vane pump. Finally, vacuum distillation is used.

2. According to the different boiling points of compounds, the appropriate heating method is chosen. Can not be directly heated with open fire, usually choose water bath or oil bath, the general requirement is to heat evenly, try to avoid local overheating. Control the bath temperature and keep the boiling point of the liquid 20 – 30 C higher than that of the liquid.

3. When distilling substances with higher boiling point, it is better to wrap the necks of Kjeldahl distillation head with asbestos rope or asbestos cloth to reduce heat dissipation.

4. Special attention should be paid to the direction of vacuum rotation. If the connection position of the vacuum pump is wrong, the vacuum pump will rotate backwards, resulting in mercury rushing out of the pressure gauge and causing pollution.

5. When the distillation is finished or needs to be interrupted during the distillation process (such as changing capillaries or receiving bottles), the fire source should be eliminated first, the hot bath should be removed, and the vacuum should be slowly alleviated after a little cooling, so that the pressure inside and outside the system can be balanced before the oil pump can be shut down. Otherwise, because of the low pressure in the system, the oil in the oil pump will be sucked into the absorption tower.
