Many users donot understand why there is oil smoke at discharge port of rotary vane vacuum pump after long term operation, here are potential reasons and suggestion:
1.Exhaust filter stop working
Exhaust filter belongs to easy wear parts, which is used to separate oil vapor and gas to prevent oil discharged together with gas, then precipitating oil vapor and back flow into oil tank. when exhaust fitler stop working, the oil vapor will be discharged. so you can see the white or blue gas.
suggest to replace the exhaust filter each 3~6months,interval should be shorten for heavy pollution industry.
2. vacuum pump oil has carbon deporsition, being blaken or like oi-sludge
when vacuum pump oil has carbon being blaken or like oi-sludge, you might see smoke at discharge port. in this case, replace the oil, disassemble the pump from your system, put a clean vessel under oil port, screw out the plug at oil feeding port and exhausting port, exhaust oil sludge. run the motor to exhaust all oil in pump chamber. then add clean oil through each suction port, around 200~300CC.run the motor to clean pump chamber again. after 2-3 time repeatition, exhaust oil and screw down the oil exhuasting port. feed oil through oil feeding port til the oil level reaches middle position of observation window. screw down the feeding port plug to avoid air leakage.
