How does it work?
Basically, there are two different methods of wear protection, namely chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and physical vapor deposition (PVD). The material to be deposited is also called a target, usually in solid form, and is vaporized by arc discharge into the coating chamber in a vacuum environment. The typical working pressure range is 1×10-1 hPa to 1×10-4 hPa. Vapor deposition coatings can be found in many industrial fields.
