CL type liquid ring vacuum pump for introduction of lobe purge
Lobe purge refers to blade flushing: flush channels machined or cast into the casing of a liquid ring compressor through which soluble or insoluble contaminants that may be present in the liquid ring can be removed from the compressor. These passages in a single-lobe pump are located in the peripheral region between the pump casing and the outer casing, in the region of the driving end and the idle end of the pump, at about 240° to the pump land in the direction of rotation of the pump. As shown on the right: the two white holes are the blade flushing holes on the CL series liquid ring vacuum pumps.
The option of blade removal minimizes damage from work corrosion due to the presence of solids.
