Does the liquid ring pump have requirements for the working fluid?

Liquid ring vacuum pump as the most common one of the crude vacuum pump, with its stable performance in different industries have a very wide range of applications, common but not limited to the use of industries including power plants, paper mills, sugar mills, and so on……

Due to different technologies, we often receive questions from customers:

Liquid ring pump in the use of hardness and working fluid calcium and salt content should be required?

Here I want to say: there is no standard. Generally speaking, chemical plants have softened water for industrial use, but our liquid ring pumps do not have strict requirement for water used. Of course, we suggest that the more pure the better.

In addition, if the working fluid used on site is not pure water or softened water, such as sea water, then how to deal with it? Please rest assured that we will recommend the most appropriate vacuum pump selection according to the specific situation of the customer site. Here, we still take seawater as an example. Seawater is a highly corrosive electrolyte solution containing a large number of salts, including sodium chloride and salts containing potassium, bromine, iodine and other elements.    Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and other gases are dissolved in seawater, and the oxygen is an important factor that causes the corrosion of carbon steel, low alloy steel and other metal structures in seawater. In the selection, we recommend titanium material, the material can effectively resist corrosion from the sea water attack!
