1. Research on working steam and its dryness: low steam pressure and pressure fluctuation have a great impact on the capacity of vacuum pump, so the steam pressure should not be lower than the required working pressure, but the structural design of vacuum pump has been finalized, too much improvement of steam pressure will not increase the pumping capacity and vacuum degree.

2. Research on the requirements of circulating cooling water: the cooling water supply is insufficient, the condenser will heat up, the air flow sound will become loud, the vacuum degree will drop rapidly, and even the steam will return to the extraction pipe.

3. Research on the sealing requirements of vacuum pump system: when the vacuum pump is in the limit state, there is little or even no water discharged from the first stage. Therefore, a large amount of water is discharged from the first stage pump, which can be considered as leakage of the system. The common causes of air leakage are: the gasket is not installed, installed incorrectly or damaged, the bolt is not tightened, the flange surface is damaged, the weld has sand holes, and the joint (pressure gauge, vacuum gauge, etc.) is not installed properly.

4. Research on the requirements of nozzle: nozzle is an important part that affects the performance of vacuum pump. The existing problems are: wrong installation, skew, blockage, damage, corrosion and leakage of nozzle. No matter what preventive measures are taken, nozzle blockage is inevitable.

Vacuum pump is a kind of rotary variable volume gas delivery pump, which can be used in a wide pressure range with a large pumping speed only with the cooperation of a front pump. It is not sensitive to dust and water vapor contained in the extracted gas, and is widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, food, electronic coating and other industries.

The overall structure of the vacuum pump is determined by the arrangement of the pump body.

The vertical structure has horizontal inlet and outlet, and it is convenient to assemble and connect pipelines. However, the center of gravity of vacuum pump is high and its stability is poor at high speed, so this type of pump is mostly used in small vacuum pump.

The air inlet of the horizontal pump is at the top and the air outlet is at the bottom. Sometimes, in order to facilitate the installation and connection of vacuum system pipes, the exhaust port can be connected from the horizontal direction, that is, the inlet and exhaust directions are mutually perpendicular. At this time, the exhaust port can be opened from the left or right direction. In addition to connecting one end of the exhaust pipe, the other end is blocked or connected with the bypass valve. The pump has low center of gravity and good stability at high speed. Generally, large and medium-sized vacuum pumps adopt this structure.

The two rotor shafts of the vacuum pump are installed vertically with the horizontal plane. The assembly clearance of the structure is easy to control, the rotor assembly is convenient, and the vacuum pump occupies a small area. However, the center of gravity of vacuum pump is high and the gear is inconvenient to disassemble, and the lubricating mechanism is relatively complex.

It can be seen that the layout of the pump body, condensate, steam, internal leakage and the environment will affect the performance of the vacuum pump, which should be paid attention to when using the equipment.
