The liquid ring vacuum pump is used in the plastic extrusion ventilation system to absorb smoke, bubbles and gases from the process. Because water-filled liquid ring pumps are oil-free, these pumps can avoid potential compatibility problems between product degassing and oil-filled pumps.
Popular extrusion ventilation solutions include 3 to 15 horespower B series integral (motor mounted) pumps or small two-stage pumps (driven separately). Motor mounting pumps are compact, while two-stage pumps are longer. Monobloc pump is most suitable for installation of 22-25 ACFM. Two-stage pump produces deeper vacuum (29 ACFM).
In the process of plastic extrusion, the plastic granules are fed into the hopper, and then melted through the internal heating elements. The rotating screw pushes the molten material down into the chamber and passes through the die at the end of the machine. The shape of the die determines the shape of the product.
