Epoxy resin is a high-molecular polymer with a molecular formula of (C11H12O3)n, which refers to a general term for a class of polymers containing more than two epoxy groups in the molecule. It is a polycondensation product of epichlorohydrin and bisphenol A or polyol. Due to the chemical activity of epoxy group, a variety of compounds containing active hydrogen can be used to open the ring, cure and crosslink to form a network structure, so it is a thermosetting resin.
Since 2010, the demand for epoxy resins in the major application markets worldwide has resumed growth. From 2011 to 2013, the demand for epoxy resins in the United States and Western Europe increased at a rate of 3.2% and 2.8%, respectively, and will continue in 2014-2018. Maintain a growth of 2%-3%, and benefit from the rapid development of the Chinese market, the global epoxy resin demand will grow at a rate of about 4.5%.
Epoxy resins are mainly used in the coating industry and the electronics industry.
In the epoxy resin production process, there is a vacuum degassing step, and the vacuum pump used in the vacuum degassing is mainly an oil-free scroll pump. Here is a case to better illustrate this application.
The customer’s requirements are as follows
1. Application: vacuum degassing. The liquid is usually epoxy, silicone, urethane, etc.
2. Ambient temperature: about 60 degrees Celsius
3. Required working vacuum: at least 0.06 mbar
4. Required pumping speed: about 2L/s
According to customer requirements, we recommend EVP-200PB scroll pump, the parameters are as follows:
The maximum pumping speed is 3L/s, the ultimate vacuum is 0.008 mbar, and the energy consumption is 0.4kw
The pump is completely clean and oil-free. Its bearings do not come into contact with the pumped medium. If the pumped gas contains liquid, the bearings will not rust, which better guarantees the performance of the pump and is more durable than ordinary scroll pumps.
