Vacuum pump used in Plastic polymer monomer recycling
Vacuum pumps are widely used in plastic processing, mainly used to extract gas/vapor, and operate at lower processing temperatures to produce high-quality products. Our expertise in vacuum applications allows us to design robust and reliable vacuum systems to meet your vacuum needs during plastic manufacturing and recycling.
Extruder degassing
Vacuum pumps play an important role in plastic degassing. It can remove water vapor, toxic and corrosive gases and impurities that affect product quality. When the polymer melt is mixed with additives and colorants into different grades of melt and in the molding process, the vacuum pump on the extruder can be used to degas it at low pressure.
Plastic recycling
Plastic recycling not only helps to reduce carbon emissions, but also reduces the amount of plastic that ends up in landfills, rivers and oceans. The vacuum system helps to remove the entrained gas and can assist the reaction in the process of solid recycling of PET, HDPE, LDPE, PC, ABS and even liquid recycling of PET.
The process steam purge gas should be recovered through compression, refrigeration, and condensation of liquefiable components. In the monomer recovery system, unreacted vinyl chloride is transferred to the storage tank. The vacuum system removes gas from the PVC and delivers the gas to the compressor at or near atmospheric pressure. Subsequently, the single-stage compressor system compresses these gases for condensation and stores them as pressurized liquid.
Polymer and bio-based plastic processing
Plastics derived from natural and renewable resources reduce emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. Bio-based polymers obtained through crop fermentation, such as polylactic acid (PLA), are prepared by direct or indirect intermediate polymerization of lactide. Vacuum is essential for initiating and assisting reactions and extracting untreated monomers.
Whether it is a batch or continuous generation process, or a vacuum range from rough vacuum to high vacuum, EVP can provide you with a vacuum system with stable pumping speed.
