Roots blower is simple in principle and structure, stable in performance and easy to manage and maintain. However, the safe operation and service life of the blower ultimately depends on the normal use and standard maintenance of the equipment. It is necessary to strengthen the three-level inspection system of the equipment and deal with the abnormal or hidden trouble in time to ensure the safe, reliable and stable operation of the fan.

First of all, roots blower must be started under no-load condition. Before starting, all inlet and exhaust valves of the fan shall be opened. After normal starting, the valves shall be adjusted gradually to make the air volume reach the required value. It is not allowed to adjust to the rated air volume once. Roots blower should not be shut down suddenly under full load operation. It is necessary to gradually reduce the air volume before shutdown, so as to avoid damaging the fan.

In the process of normal operation, each shift of the post personnel should regularly carry out patrol inspection, focusing on whether the bolts in each part are loose, whether there is oil leakage in the lubricating parts, whether the bearing temperature at both ends and the fan shell temperature are normal, and make various inspection records. Regularly check the lubrication and cooling system of Roots blower, pay attention to the quality of lubricating oil, and listen carefully to whether there is noise in the operation of blower, so as to judge the operation of rotor shaft and impeller.

Secondly, the overload or abnormal operation of Roots blower is gradually reflected. There is a quantitative change process. It is necessary to pay attention to the inlet and exhaust pressure of the fan, the temperature rise of the bearing and the running load current of the fan motor. If the above parameters fluctuate, it is necessary to carry out a comprehensive diagnosis and inspection of the fan, and deal with it in time to avoid further expansion of the fault.

The roots blower shall be overhauled once a year regularly, and the clearance between impeller and impeller, impeller and shell, impeller and wallboard shall be inspected and adjusted in time. If the clearance exceeds the allowable range, experienced maintenance personnel shall be responsible for adjustment.
