Water ring vacuum pump is a common type of liquid ring vacuum pump. Water ring is a rotor with multi-blades eccentrically installed in the pump shell. When it rotates, it throws liquid into the pump and forms a liquid ring concentric with the pump shell. 2BV series vacuum pumps are suitable for pumping gas and wet water vapor. The suction pressure can reach 33 mbar absolute pressure (97% vacuum degree). When the pressure of vacuum pump is lower than 80 mbar for a long time, the cavitation protection tube should be connected to protect the pump. For example, with an air ejector, the suction pressure can reach 10 mbar. The ejector can be directly mounted on the vacuum pump. When used as a compressor, its pressure is up to 0.26 mbar (absolute pressure).

Water-ring vacuum pumps and compressors are more widely used because the compression process of gas is isothermal in the working process, so when they compress and suck flammable and explosive gases, they are not easy to be dangerous.
