The oil-free scroll vacuum pump is mainly composed of 5 parts:

① . the dynamic and static scroll is attached to the base;

② . crankshaft;

③ . gasket;

④ . anti rotation mechanism;

⑤ . motor.

The scroll of oil-free scroll vacuum pump is a scroll like structure formed by one or several involute helices connected with a plane at one end. A static scroll plate and a dynamic scroll plate are mutually crossed and assembled, and the anti rotation mechanism guarantees 180 between them. In this way, the basic pumping mechanism of oil-free scroll vacuum pump is composed of a pair of scroll pairs. The static scroll and the dynamic scroll contact each other in several straight lines (i.e. several points on the cross-section scroll line) to form symmetrical pairs of crescent cavities. The dynamic scroll moves around the center of the scroll body of the static scroll driven by the crankshaft, so that the contact points of the static scroll and the dynamic scroll move along the scroll surface to achieve suction, compression and exhaust. For example, in a two-stage oil-free scroll vacuum pump, there are two static scroll plates corresponding to the two directions, and one moving scroll plate located between the two scroll plates. The dynamic and static vortices move relative to each other to form a crescent shaped real cavity with constant volume change, which makes the gas aspirated from the suction port and discharged from the exhaust port, completing the cycle of suction, compression and exhaust. Every revolution of the crankshaft, a new set of crescent cavity is formed, so the suction, compression and exhaust cycles of the oil-free scroll vacuum pump are continuously repeated at the frequency of nearly 1500 rpm, forming containment and forced delivery of the extracted gas.

As we all know, the oil-free scroll vacuum pump has remarkable characteristics compared with the ordinary oil vacuum pump.

The main advantages of oil-free scroll vacuum pump include:

1. Good sealing performance, not directly connected to the leakage channel of suction and exhaust chamber like mechanical pump, easy to seal, easy to achieve high vacuum;

2. The rotating radius is small, the relative sliding speed of the dynamic and static scroll is only about 1 / 7 of that of the vane vacuum pump, and the dynamic seal between the dynamic and static scroll is relatively easy, which is conducive to extending the service life of the pump;

3. The compression process must be slow. There are two or three compression processes at the same time. The compression cavity is symmetrical with respect to the crankshaft. In this way, the operation process of the pump is stable, the driving torque and gas impact fluctuation are small, and the noise and vibration of the pump are reduced.

All in all, the oil-free scroll vacuum pump has a simple structure, a high compression ratio, a stable pumping speed in a wide pressure range, and a wide working pressure range; the gap between the dynamic and static scroll plates is small and the leakage is small, because the change of the volume of the compression chamber is continuous, the change of driving torque is small, the change of power is small, the vibration noise is low, and the performance is high. This is not available for other types of dry vacuum pumps.
