Why the vacuum unit leaks water

Water leakage will occur during the use of vacuum unit, and different treatment methods will be adopted for different reasons. Next, let’s take a look at the water leakage of the vacuum unit and the corresponding solutions.

Why the vacuum unit leaks water

1. Packaging and sealing leakage

Packaging leakage is mainly caused by packaging damage. As long as pay attention to the packing replacement cycle, how many packing will be dropped during normal use. If the filler drops sharply, it shall be replaced in time.

Solution: The packing seal is cheap in price, simple in structure and convenient in maintenance, but with large leakage and power loss. Therefore, the packing seal can be used to transport general media. For example, the vacuum unit is not suitable for petroleum and chemical media, especially expensive, explosive and toxic media.

2. Mechanical seal leakage

Mechanical seal leakage is mainly due to the lack of water in the vacuum pump, the entry of large hard particles in the vacuum pump or the service life of the mechanical seal. The solution is to supply working fluid to the vacuum unit in time, and do not start the vacuum unit without water. Install a filter screen at the air inlet of the vacuum pump to prevent hard and large particles from entering the pump.

The mechanical sealing effect of vacuum unit is good, with less leakage and long service life, but the price is expensive, and the requirements for processing, installation and maintenance are higher than those of general seals. Mechanical seals are suitable for transporting petroleum and chemical media, and can be used for media with different viscosity, strong corrosivity and particles. Nowadays, mechanical seals are widely used in vacuum units.
