Vacuum pumps are widely used in petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. They are also listed by EVP vacuum pump manufacturers. What are their specific uses? Let’s look at them next.

Gas recovery. In the oil and gas industry, gases are released into the atmosphere. Whether upstream production or downstream refining, gas recovery is the process of recovering hydrocarbon gas from storage tank. Gas recovery can be achieved by removing the vacuum and compressing the gas in the tank. By using a dry pump, ethane gas can be recovered, liquefied and reused.

Gas recovery. Gas recovery mainly refers to the gas recovery in refinery sewage system or production. Because of its composition, this gas is usually considered as exhaust gas, but after separation, it can be recovered. The vacuum pump is used to transport it to the pipeline compressor, and then it is compressed and transported to the power generation equipment for treatment, which can be used for combined power generation. This is not only conducive to environmental protection, but also produces new benefits.

Increase gas pressure and oil recovery. Increasing gas pressure and oil recovery is an upstream process, which includes eliminating the well vacuum to release the well pressure, so that the oil can flow more freely and increase oil production. At the same time, it also includes the accompanying gas recovery.


Stabilization of crude oil. By using vacuum pump or compressor to discharge dissolved gas and stabilize the actual steam pressure, crude oil can be stabilized.

Crude oil vacuum distillation and aromatics extraction tail gas collection. Through atmospheric distillation or vacuum distillation, crude oil is separated into different components and extracted according to different boiling points. The efficiency of vacuum distillation is higher than that of atmospheric distillation. The non condensing light hydrocarbon gas discharged in the process is usually collected in a common container and discharged through the pipeline for combustion (spot flare). Modern refining technology can discharge it to a vacuum pump or compressor for compression, and then return it to a burner for combustion, and recover energy. This is undoubtedly very important for the current implementation of environmental protection.

Oil and gas recovery. Different from waste gas recovery, the application of vacuum pump for oil and gas recovery makes oil and gas recovery relatively stable.

Dewaxing and tail gas recovery. Dewaxing refers to the removal and collection of paraffin components from oil, which can improve the quality and applicability of oil products. In this application, liquid ring roots vacuum unit is widely used.

Synthesis and production of polyester. In polyester production, the vacuum required by the reactor can be obtained by a composite vacuum system composed of a steam ejector and a liquid ring pump. Unlike other applications, glycol (eg) can be directly used as the working fluid of vacuum pump to facilitate the operation of the whole vacuum system.
