2、 Select a pump that meets the head requirements

The so-called lift refers to the required lift, rather than the lift height, which is particularly important for the selection of pumps. The pump lift is about 1.15-1.20 times of the lifting height. For example, the vertical height from a water source to the place where the water is used is 20 meters, and the required lift is about 23-24 meters.

When selecting the pump, the head on the nameplate of the pump should be close to the required head, and the general deviation should not be more than 20%. In this case, the efficiency of the pump is the highest, it is also more energy-saving, and the use will be more economical. If the head on the nameplate is far less than the required head, the water pump is often unable to meet the user’s needs. Even if the water can be pumped, the water volume is pitifully small. But in turn, when the high head pump is used for the low head, the flow will be too large, resulting in motor overload. If the motor operates for a long time, the temperature of the motor will rise, and the winding insulation will gradually age, or even burn down the motor.

3、 Select the pump with proper flow

The flow of water pump, that is, the water output, should not be too large, or the cost of purchasing water pump will be increased. It should be selected according to the needs. For example, the flow of the self-priming pump used by the user’s family should be smaller as far as possible; for example, the submersible pump used by the user for irrigation, the one with larger flow can be selected appropriately.

4、 The key of choosing agricultural water pump

1. Choose water pump according to local conditions. There are three types of commonly used agricultural pumps, namely centrifugal pump, axial flow pump and mixed flow pump. Therefore, the actual head is generally 10% – 20% lower than the total head, and the water output is correspondingly reduced.

Therefore, in actual use, it can only be estimated according to 80% – 90% of the head and flow indicated on the nameplate. The selection of the matching power of the water pump can be based on the power indicated on the nameplate. In order to make the water pump start quickly and use safely, the power of the power machine can be slightly greater than the power required by the water pump, which is generally about 10% higher.
